Check here regularly for Podcasts Episodes on the use of technology in education. The podcasts presented here are intended to stir real discussions/ debates and investigations into the role of technology in education. As, such they will not necessarily be followed by a subsequent episode or by episodes as the normal podcasts. Therefore, you are encouraged to think reflective upon the topics and discussions. If you are interesting in conducting research on the role Technology in Education or need ideas for Research Topics then pay careful attention to these Episodes. You may also want to start you own discussion groups on some of the ideas presented.

Podcast #1. Head of the class.  This episode traces the beginning of the use of teaching enablers from the simple blackboard to technology in the classroom today. You will here about what impact each new introduction had or did not have on learning.

Pre-Listening  Activity. What was the purpose of using the blackboard in the classroom? What it really effective? Did it have the intended effect? Has the any lesson been learnt for that introduction and other introductions into the classroom?  (listen here).

Post- Listening Activity.  Do you think that some introductions were ahead of time? Were students and teachers fully prepared for the new additions? Did it matter? Has educators learnt from previous mistakes if any? If yes. then what needs to be changed?

You may want to investigate how teachers and students are reacting to the introduction of new technologies to their classrooms. Also, how helpful are the new introductions in the learning process. What effects do these introductions really have on the classroom.
